About me

My journey as a psychotherapist started through my own body on my yoga mat. Finding yoga helped me to reconnect with my body and interpret physical sensations which I was able to link to early unprocessed trauma and difficult emotions – my body was giving me clues about what had happened in my early childhood that I was not able to verbalise.

Tuning into my body through yoga healed me – finding my voice through personal therapy helped me to come back to my authentic self, which inspired my counselling/psychotherapy studies – I hope my approach will inspire you too.

Being a qualified yoga practitioner also draws me to think about my clients holistically considering both mind and body – I can offer breathwork, mindfulness and trauma based grounding techniques which can be calming and help reconnect and regulate both body and mind.

As an experienced accredited member of the British association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I have reached their requirements for a higher standard as a competent, ethical and independent practitioner MBACP (Accred).  Which also means that I have many hours of experience working with clients.

My approach

I believe therapy is a collaborative process, where we will explore the past to make sense of the present, cultivating awareness and coping skills to help you manage what can feel unmanageable.

My aim is to support you in a confidential professional manner and together we will try to understand what is going on for you and find some resolve.

Testimonials

“My husband and I came to therapy after it became apparent we could not resolve our relationship issues by ourselves, particularly our communications issues.  We were both at a point we were just existing in the relationship and didn’t know how we could improve the state of our relationship.   From our very first meeting with Tina, we felt at ease, surprisingly more so my husband. We find Tina so approachable and relatable. We both felt heard and for the first time in a long time we were hearing each other. Tina helped us to realise the impact our upbringing is having on our adult life and how this is playing out in our relationship. Above all Tina reminded us of what brought us together in the first place and therefore allowing us to see the good in each other again. We are so pleased to have had Tina as our therapist and can’t thank her enough for the great work she did untangling our web of issues. Our relationship still needs a great deal of work, however, Tina has given us the tools to start the work and therefore given us hope again.”

Admitting that you need help and reaching out to a therapist isn’t easy. It’s really brave to find the strength within yourself to share the innermost parts of your being with a stranger. Facing traumatic experiences from your past and exploring how they still affect your present life is a painful process. Finding the right person to journey with is highly significant. Tina is an excellent therapist, whose approach is gentle, and I’m so grateful for the time we had together. I felt listened to, understood and valued. Her compassion, empathy, intelligence, and knowledge of the relationship between the mind and body are admirable. Although we came to an agreed ending, I would not hesitate to return in future if I needed to.
